How To Cast A Bait

Hey guys! Annyeong today we are talking about casting techniques. Casting technique usually done from the shore, like docks, rocks, beachs, even on a boat that is stopping or running with low speed. Fishing rod that is usually use are special fishing rods that is flexible and not stiff and from me and MFA ( Manado Fishing Adventure ) recommendation, we agree that the most effective rod's length is 180 to 200 cm. Reel that is use can be a reel for spinning and special reel (baitcasting). Some examples reel brands that we recommend are Shimano, Daiwa, Ryobi, Kamikaze, etc. Some examples of lure types that is mostly use here are spoons, mini poppers, minnow, soft plastic lure, spinner, etc.

Baits that we usually use are artificial baits (lure) in the shape of fish, insects, shrimps or other sea creatures that weighs about 5 to 30 grams. How to use this casting technique? First, we have to throw the bait as far as we can, and then the reel rolled fast, how fast? it is according to the bait that we use. We have to keep doing this until a fish eats our bait or on some cases where the fisher are tired and giving up. Because of that, casting technique are categorized as sportfishing.

Casting technique are divided into 2 parts, which is:
  • Surf Casting:
This technique are used on the beach with a rod 4 meters lengths.Eventhough the basic technique is almost the same as the first casting technique i explained above, in surf casting, the bait that's thrown precisely left in place (we dont have to rolled the reel as fast as we can). Because of this, this techniques has to use tin ballast to hold the bait so it won't move or broke because of the wave. We usually use natural baits for this technique. The bait throwing isn't done randomly, but has to be thrown in notch. Surf casting is usually done at rising tide because at that time fishes goes near the shore to find prey.

  • Rock Casting
This technique is almost as effective as surf casring, using the same tools. But the difference is that rock casting is done at rocks on shore or seafront. It uses the same basic techniques as surf casting.
